Noah focuses on sustainable economic development in rural communities, and approaches this work from the perspective of someone who has actually been in the kind of jobs he’s trying to create. Working before and during college, he got his hands dirty with five years of experience in green industries such as solar energy, local foods (growing, selling, and cooking), green building, and native plant landscaping, and also worked in web development and IT before finishing school.
After earning his BA in Sustainable Economic Development, he put this diverse background to work at a systems level, leading and working on regional economic development projects for the next six years as a Rural Fellow with Rural Support Partners, as a Program Director for AdvantageWest Economic Development Group, and as a consultant for clients across the United States. He now leads projects and teams as President of Emergent Opportunities Inc, and enjoys cooking, paddling, biking, hiking, reading, and gardening when he’s not busy with nonprofit boards or work.
